Airbnb Amenities You Can't Filter For

Airbnb's filter list covers the basics: Wifi, kitchen, pool, parking and similar. Plenty of things people actually plan a trip around are not on it. Here are nine, what each one is good for, and how to search for them.

What โ€œcan't filter forโ€ means here

On 18 October 2026 we opened Airbnb's Filters panel on desktop, logged out, on a Lisbon search, and expanded the amenities list. It showed 25 amenity filters, and none of the nine below were among them. Airbnb changes this list from time to time and has begun adding AI-assisted search, so if one of these appears on your screen, use it. Hosts can still list any of these amenities on their own page, which is why the homes exist. You just cannot ask for them from the list.

Game room

Add it when you are booking for a group or a rainy week. A listing that says "game room" has a space set aside for it, which is a different thing from a TV and a console in the lounge.

Pool table

Pick it for a games night with friends. Still ask the host whether it is a full-size table and whether the cues and balls are there.

Tennis court

Search it for country houses and resort-style stays. Ask whether the court is private to your booking or shared with other guests, and whether rackets are supplied.

Sauna

Add it for cold-weather trips and wellness weekends. Check whether the sauna is inside the home or shared with a building, and whether it is included in the price.

Outdoor shower

The right pick for a beach, surf or lake stay, where you want to rinse off before you walk in. Ask whether it has hot water.

Golf simulator

Rare, so a search on it returns few homes. That is the point: those are the places built for golfers, whatever the weather.

Piano

Useful if you play. Ask the host whether it is tuned and whether it is an acoustic piano or a digital one.

Movie theater

Search it if you want a dedicated screening room, not a big television. Ask what the screen and sound system are.

Wine cellar

A room for storing wine, usually in larger or older properties. Ask whether guests can use it or whether it is the host's own stock.

How to search for any of them

  1. Open CustomBNB and pick the amenity, or use the โ€œSearch with thisโ€ button above.
  2. Choose any others you want. Each one narrows the results, so two or three is usually enough.
  3. CustomBNB opens an Airbnb search with those amenities already applied. Then add your dates and place on Airbnb as normal.
  4. Before you book, message the host about anything you are relying on. Each amenity above has its own page with what to ask.

CustomBNB covers 590+ amenities in total. The full code list is free, and so is the worked example of doing it by hand. Why Airbnb leaves these out is a separate read.
