We searched the hidden one on every continent and kept only homes where the mountains fill a photo taken from the home itself. Before you book, ask the host which rooms actually face the mountains and whether anything blocks the view, such as trees, new buildings or low cloud in your season. A view that fills the living room in summer can disappear behind cloud for days in winter, so it is worth asking how often guests see it.
How we chose: we searched every continent for Airbnbs with a mountain view, kept only whole homes rated 4.85 or higher whose photos show the mountain view, and picked the ten we would most like to stay in, at a range of prices. Nobody paid to be on this list.
