Plenty of hosts mention a hammock, but few show one strung up somewhere worth lying in, and Airbnb has no hammock filter in its menu. We searched the hidden one worldwide and looked at every photo. These are the ten whole homes we would book first, from a roof deck over a Mexican bay to an olive grove outside Florence.

Before you book, ask the host whether the hammock is up all year or only in the warm months, and whether it sits in shade or full sun in the afternoon. Some hosts take them down in winter or bad weather, so a quick message tells you whether it will be there when you arrive.
How we chose: we searched every continent for Airbnbs with a hammock, kept only whole homes rated 4.85 or higher whose photos show the hammock, and picked the ten we would most like to stay in, at a range of prices. Nobody paid to be on this list.
