Plenty of Airbnbs say "sea view", but a view of an actual beach, with sand and surf, is rarer, and Airbnb's beach-view filter is hidden from its menu. We searched it on every continent and kept only whole homes where the beach shows up in the photos from the house itself. These are the ten we would book first, from a dune house on the Oregon coast to a sunset balcony in Ericeira.

Before you book, ask the host which rooms actually face the beach, since a listing can show the best view from one balcony only. It is also worth asking how you get down to the sand and how long it takes on foot, because a view from a clifftop can mean a steep walk or a short drive.
How we chose: we searched every continent for Airbnbs with a beach view, kept only whole homes rated 4.85 or higher whose photos show the beach view, and picked the ten we would most like to stay in, at a range of prices. Nobody paid to be on this list.
