Our 10 Favorite Airbnbs with a Backyard
A real garden is what turns a holiday rental into somewhere you actually want to spend the afternoon, but Airbnb has no backyard filter in its menu. We searched the hidden one in every region and looked at the garden photos ourselves. These are the ten whole homes we would book first, from a lakeside cottage in Kerry to a 150-year-old townhouse garden in Kyoto.
Every home here is the whole place, not a room. Prices are the full Airbnb total for 7 nights, 6 March 2027 to 13 March 2027, for 2 guests, including fees and taxes, checked on 25 October 2026. They change daily, so open the listing for today's price.

Before you book
Before you book, ask the host whether the garden is for your use alone or shared with the main house or other guests, and what it looks like in the month you are travelling. Gardens change a lot with the seasons, and a quick message saves you arriving to bare beds in winter.
How we chose: we searched every continent for Airbnbs with a backyard, kept only whole homes rated 4.85 or higher whose photos show the backyard, and picked the ten we would most like to stay in, at a range of prices. Nobody paid to be on this list.
